The event location, parties, court, type of claim, and other facts can affect which law applies. A state name alone may not resolve the question. Do not borrow a deadline from another state or a superficially similar case.
Notice and filing are different questions

The triggering date may be disputed
A deadline may depend on an event date or another legally defined trigger. Accrual, tolling, discovery, or repose are jurisdiction-specific and should not be guessed from a summary article. Preserve dates and seek local advice promptly.
Bring a date packet
Prepare the incident date and location, potential parties, report numbers, first treatment date, insurer communications, notices, signed documents, and any date stated to you. Ask the lawyer to identify the source and calculation of any deadline.
